John Groom MA (Hons) Dip Tchg. Dip Bus. has been in the facilitation business all his working life. An experienced adult educator, John's specialty is creating environments in which people can learn.
While the director of a training centre within the Department of Social Welfare, John learnt about the power and challenge of working in large organisations. As a principal psychologist John became involved in the entrepreneurial process of building a creative and responsive team that could react quickly to the needs of both individuals and groups. In the counselling process John has discovered his best successes are apparent when people feel 'listened to', combined with practical problem solving. John is a great believer that people can find their own power when they experience being valued and encouraged. As the Director of a Drug and Alcohol Agency John was reminded of the power of effective communication and our need to build positive visions in organisations. Only with a clearly communicated vision can we expect an organisation to achieve its goals. During this period John was also reminded of the importance of maintaining our own integrity and values within a corporate structure. In recent years John has been occupied with the development of his private psychology practice and several related 'products'. This exciting business has underlined the importance of life style balance and the ability to spend as much time working on a business as working in it. John now divides his time between coaching, mentoring, counselling and facilitation. His approach is known to be practical, humorous, and inspiring. People and organisations are challenged to live up to their full potential.
